ChipsBnk Flash Disk

I do apologise if this question has been posed.

recently I removed my flash disk (128Mb), using "safely Remove Hardware." Today I plug in the flash disk and I'm unable to open it. It it keeps telling me to format the drive & lists the drive as only 8Mb. I don't want to format, as there are some files on the flash that I need. I ran ddrescue, but it only "sees" the 8Mb.

Any suggestion on how to extract the files would be appreciated.

Many thanks

On what did you run ddrescue? Did you run it on the full device or just one partition?

For example, did you image /dev/sdc1 or /dev/sdc?

I suggest you try to image the entire device.

Hi Andrew, Thanks for your

Hi Andrew,
Thanks for your respond.
I'll have to get back to you on this, can't remember exactly how I imaged the drive, but will do as you suggest.

Apologises, for not

Apologises, for not responding sooner as to the outcome. I tried imaging the whole drive, but it still only identifies the 8Mb. I tired other packages too, but with no success. It has now become a sideline project, which I work on to see if I can recover the rest of the flash. Any further suggestion would be appreciated.
